JOB SUMMARY
Support the Legal-Affiliates department by helping with legal projects, assisting with insurance renewals, and maintaining procedures and databases. Assist with regulatory filings, affiliate insurance license maintenance, and reporting. Provide administrative support for meetings and events, coordinate invoices, and contribute to department initiatives and decision-making processes.

 

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the insurance renewal process for various affiliated companies as assigned.
  • Prepare correspondence for the legal-affiliates department as needed.
  • Coordinate, update, and maintain processes, procedures, and databases for the legal-affiliates department.
  • Help prepare and monitor reports and regulatory filings for affiliates.
  • Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of entity-level insurance licenses for affiliates.
  • Assist department staff in scheduling meetings, organizing events, recording notes, drafting minutes, and maintaining agendas for affiliate board members.
  • Participate in meetings involving collective decision-making and contribute to departmental or interdepartmental processes as requested.
  • Coordinate the payment of invoices for the legal-affiliates department and reconcile accounts.
  • Complete other tasks for the legal-affiliates department as assigned.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others (both orally and in writing).
  • Must possess at least a basic knowledge of insurance company operations.
  • Must be able to understand the impact of the external environment on internal operations.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions and follow directions.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle confrontational situations in a productive manner.
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.
  • Should be able to focus on assigned tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • One (1) - two (2) years of administrative experience required.
  • One (1) year of insurance experience is desired.
  • An Associate's degree, paralegal certification, and/or insurance related studies are desired.
  • Prior legal or insurance-related experience would be beneficial.
