F.T. Farfan (Jamaica) Limited - Service Technician

We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to join the team at F.T. Farfan (Jamaica) Limited for the position outlined below.

JOB PURPOSE 
To perform timely and accurate repairs to all motor-powered equipment in keeping with the department’s 
policies and procedures. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Assembling of new equipment for sale. 
• Servicing and repairing of motor powered equipment as assigned by the Service Supervisor 
• Providing support as an assistant to Field Service Technicians as required 
• Conducts research for the repairs of jobs including identifying parts required by part number.  
• Provides preliminary information required for the preparation of quotations.  
• Completes dealership-sponsored training within the specified timeframe including all assigned online training.  
• Performing the necessary service for offsite visits and service campaigns. 
• Maintains updated knowledge of product and industry trends and methods.  

• Maintains proper housekeeping practices both during and after job completion. 
• Demonstrates active adherence to all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, while also promoting HSE awareness. 
• Performs other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company. 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE  
• A minimum of five (5) O’Level CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English Language.   
• N.E.C certification in either Auto and Diesel technician or the equivalent from a recognized Technical institution or an associate's degree in a related field of practice.  
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the relevant field. 

KEY COMPETENCIES  
• A systematic approach to troubleshooting and reporting.  
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.   
• Critical thinking skills  
• Knowledge of machines and tools.  
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written  
• Team Oriented. 

Please note: This is a full-time, on-site position based in Jamaica. Successful candidates must be legally authorized to work in Jamaica. Any relocation costs associated with accepting this position will be the sole responsibility of the successful candidate.
