Guest Services - Fitness Center - Part-Time

Position Summary:
The Fitness Center at the Buffalo Grove Park District is seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-service-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Guest Services Representative.

The Guest Services Representative serves as a primary point of contact for members and guests and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Fitness Center. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively assist members with a variety of needs.

In addition to front desk responsibilities, this position assists with membership and program sales, account inquiries, financial transactions, emergency procedures, and facility closing procedures. This is an evening and weekend position - Evening shifts 4:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m.  Must be available to work 3+ holiday shifts per year.  .

Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•    Greet and check in members and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
•    Provide accurate information regarding Fitness Center memberships, programs, services, policies, and procedures.
•    Answer incoming telephone calls and direct calls to the appropriate staff member or department.
•    Assist members with account questions, billing concerns, and other membership-related matters.
•    Assist with registration for group exercise classes, specialty classes, and other Fitness Center programs.
•    Process sales and registrations for memberships, personal training packages, student passes, specialty classes, and other Fitness Center services.
•    Provide prospective members with accurate information regarding membership options, facility amenities, programs, and services.
•    Assist with resolving past-due membership accounts following monthly billing.
•    Address member questions, concerns, and challenging situations with professionalism, discretion, and a customer-service-focused approach.
•    Accurately process financial transactions and maintain appropriate documentation.
•    Perform end-of-day closing procedures, including reconciling cash and receipts and verifying deposit amounts.
•    Complete all required closing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
•    Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and reception area.
•    Respond and document appropriately to member injuries, incidents, and emergency situations.
•    Communicate significant member concerns, incidents, facility issues, and other relevant information to appropriate supervisory staff.
•    Maintain confidentiality of member information and account records.
•    Collaborate with Fitness Center staff to support efficient daily operations and provide a positive experience for members and guests.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
•    High school diploma or equivalent.
•    Previous customer service experience.
•    Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn membership management, registration, and point-of-sale software.

Pay:
$17.50 - $18 per hour
