  • Maintain general ledger accounting records, prepare and review monthly financials and report results to Assistant Controller and Controller for review and consolidation.
  • Responsible for weekly cash reconciliations and reporting process, ensuring the integrity of accounts and the organization’s financial integrity. 
  • Responsible for all accounts payables, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis and financials for the entities assigned, plus allocation of consolidated invoices and journal entries.
  • Ensure journal entries and account payable postings are coded to the accurate GL account and any intercompany balances zero
  • Responsible for ensuring operational items are renewed and paid on time – including environmental and business licenses, sign contracts, insurance, lease renewals, etc.
  • Work toward goals set by Assistant Controller on accounting related functions and any other development goals as needed.
  • Assist in gathering schedules for the outside accounting firm for year end audit and tax planning or as required.
  • Allocation to the appropriate GL account for all monthly credit card transactions on company and owner credit cards.
  • Analyze the business processes for more efficient ways and review financials monthly to determine potential cost-savings.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Advise management of any known items that are not recurring that would cause a need for cash in order to better forecast the company’s cash position.
  • Responsible for the monthly sales tax reporting related to the entities assigned.
  • Create sales and financial reporting for Burger King Corporate as required.
  • May be responsible for the annual Corporate Commission filings for various entities.
  • May be responsible for annual personal property tax filings.
  • Accountable to Assistant Controller
  • Support new entity start up, including, but not limited to, utilities set up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business/Financial area preferred, or 4 plus years related business experience
  • Must be PC proficient with a strong experience in Microsoft Excel and Word (SAGE/MAS experience a plus)
  • Previous experience in the restaurant industry a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines as required
