We are currently looking for a GasQuest Development Specialist I / II / Sr / Lead in Houston, TX or Owensboro, KY.
Position Description:
Join Boardwalk's GasQuest team and play a key role in shaping the technology, processes, and customer solutions that support critical natural gas transportation and storage operations across our pipeline systems. In this role, you'll partner with commercial, customer service, accounting, and IT teams to drive business improvements, lead system enhancements, solve complex operational challenges, and influence the future of GasQuest.
We welcome candidates with experience in the natural gas or energy industry, as well as professionals from other industries who have demonstrated success in project management, business analysis, process improvement, systems implementation, or operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who enjoys driving business improvements, leading change, and partnering across functions to deliver results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Partnership & Solution Development. Partner with business and technical teams to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and enhance GasQuest capabilities.
Project & Enhancement Delivery. Lead system enhancement initiatives from discovery through implementation, including requirements gathering, planning, testing, deployment, and user adoption.
Business Analysis & Process Improvement. Analyze business processes, operational needs, and stakeholder feedback to develop practical, scalable solutions that improve efficiency and customer experience.
Stakeholder Engagement & Prioritization. Facilitate discussions with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate solutions, manage priorities, and align on project objectives.
Testing & Implementation Readiness. Coordinate testing activities, issue resolution, and implementation readiness to support successful project delivery and system performance.
Operational Support & Issue Resolution. Serve as a trusted resource for system, process, and operational issues related to commercial, contracting, billing, accounting, scheduling, and customer service functions.
Training & Knowledge Management. Develop and maintain process documentation, training materials, and communications that support knowledge sharing and user readiness.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement. Support regulatory, contractual, and company compliance requirements while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Relevant experience in natural gas contracting, billing/accounting, or scheduling; or experience in project management, business analysis, process improvement, or a related discipline
Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple requests or projects, set appropriate priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs
Ability to work effectively with business users, technical teams, leadership, customers, and other stakeholders
Ability to facilitate discussions, gather information, resolve ambiguity, and translate business needs into clear requirements and action plans
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare business documentation and deliver training
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn complex business processes and systems
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in natural gas transmission, storage, energy, or other regulated industry
Knowledge of one or more natural gas business functions, including contracting, billing/accounting, scheduling, nominations, allocations, rates, or capacity release
Experience managing system enhancements or projects through discovery, requirements, testing, implementation, communication, and training
Working knowledge of Jira
Knowledge of FERC, NAESB, SOX, tariff, or related regulatory and control requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
