About the Role

As a Land Agent, you’ll help secure the land rights needed to support critical energy infrastructure projects for ATCO Gas and Pipelines and affiliated companies, where applicable. • Provide land-related input into route planning, project meetings, and cost and schedule estimates.

  • Review land values, compensation trends, third-party agreements, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Act as a key point of contact between ATCO and landowners, helping resolve issues and maintain clear communication.

  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements, while supporting continuous improvement of land processes and guidelines.

What You Bring

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, decision-making, customer service, and relationship-building skills, supported by a solid work ethic.

  • Resilient, adaptable, and proactive problem-solving skills in complex or stressful situations.

  • Knowledge of standards, policies, procedures, and applicable government rules and regulations related to land acquisition, reclamation, and the natural gas industry.

  • Understanding of natural gas system construction and how route selection impacts the economic design, construction, and operation of these systems.

  • Ability to interpret legal plans and documentation and prepare agreements, acquisition documents, and related construction plans and drawings.

  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental objectives, and the use of required safety reporting tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs used in daily work.

  • Ability to travel throughout the ATCO Gas & Pipelines service area, stay out of town as required, and work outside standard hours to accommodate landowners when needed.

  • Commitment to demonstrating ATCO’s values of safety, integrity, agility, caring, and collaboration.
