Salad/Sandwich Maker

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Salad/Sandwich Maker to join our Jansen Discovery Lodge in Jansen, SK. The Salad Sandwich Maker is responsible for helping with the basic preparation of food and ensuring that all the flatware, pots, pans, and plate-ware are cleaned, sanitized, and up to the Lodge standards.

Where We Work and Live:

The Jansen Discovery Lodge is a workforce housing facility in support of the BHP Jansen potash mine. The camp is located 155 kilometers east of Saskatoon, SK. 

Our positions work on a 14 day on, 7 days off rotation. Accommodations and meals during your work rotations are provided by the company.

Responsibilities:

• Must be able to easily prepare a minimum of 500+ sandwiches in one shift. Extremely high volume for a large, busy camp.

• The preparation of salad bar items, including the preparation of basic foods and portioning

• Responsible for ensuring that all the flatware, pots, pans, and plate-ware are cleaned, sanitized, and up to the Lodge standards

• Creativity with salad and sandwich making including made to order specialty sandwiches.

• Able to work efficiently by making high volume count of salad and sandwich products

• Oversees stocking of all food serving areas, with a focus on quality, appearance, adequate stocking levels, and minimizing leftovers and product waste.

• Maintaining the daily preparation, handling, storage, rotation, and serving of all sandwiches/salads required to meet the kitchen demands

• Prepare salads and sandwiches according to specifications in quantities sufficient for the day’s count.

• Assist anywhere else in the kitchen during production as needed.

• Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must hold a valid food safety certificate

• 1 year of experience as Sandwich/Salad Maker

• Excellent people skills

• Able to work effectively and efficiently with little supervision

• Ability to prioritize and multitask

• Works well under pressure
