We are looking for an experienced Site Carpenter to join our workforce housing projects team in Calgary. This is a full-time temporary assignment for 11-12 months. 
 

Job Responsibilities: 
•    Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes
•    Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles
•    Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
•    Read and interpret drawings. 
•    Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.
•    Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue.
•    Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location.
•    Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes
•    Other duties as assigned.
 

Required Skills/Experience: 
•    5+ years of carpentry experience in a commercial or industrial construction setting; modular construction experience is considered an asset 
•    Safety-conscious with a proven track record of following safe work practices 
•    Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings 
•    Skilled in the use of hand and power tools and working with diverse construction materials 
•    Effective communicator and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
