About the Role

As the Supervisor, Construction, you'll provide leadership and oversight for transmission line construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll lead project execution in the field, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and support the successful delivery of projects from planning through construction.

 

This role combines technical expertise, people leadership, contractor management, and project coordination, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional looking to make a meaningful contribution to Alberta's energy infrastructure.

 

What You’ll Do: 

 

  • Oversee a portfolio of transmission line construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost expectations are achieved.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to support project planning, execution, and delivery.

  • Establish project schedules, develop work packages, and monitor project costs.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety requirements.

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and support construction personnel and contractors.

  • Support incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor industry trends, construction practices, and emerging technologies that may impact project delivery.

  • Manage contractor relationships and ensure work is completed in accordance with contractual obligations and company standards.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support land acquisition, project planning, and construction activities.

  • Foster positive working relationships with customers, stakeholders, and project partners

 

What You Bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields. 

  • Power Line Technician (PLT) certification and CAPM/PMP are assets.

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience, ideally at least 5 years in transmission line projects.

  • In-depth understanding of OH&S Regulations and transmission construction standards.

  • Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and project management tools.

  • Valid Alberta class 5 vehicle operator’s license.

  • Flexibility to travel and work varying hours.
