We have a range of roles to match your interests and availability, including:

• Companionship – Friendly visits, conversations, or walks

• Lifestyle Activities – Board games, music, art, craft, music and social engagement

• Exercise Volunteer – Gentle movement or walking sessions

• Gardening – Help maintain and beautify our outdoor spaces

• Meals Assistance – Supporting residents during mealtimes

The origins of the Cessnock aged care site go back to the early 1960's when what was then known as Allandale Aged Care site was founded on the outskirts of the Cessnock community to provide aged care to the people of the lower Hunter. in 2003, Allandale was sold to Calvary Health Care and the site became Calvary Retirement Community Cessnock. Today, Calvary Cessnock is a large aged care home that offers quality aged care accommodation to 200 residents across two Residential Care sites; Bimbadeen and Nulkaba.

Over the years, Volunteers have always played a vital part in resident care, complementing the care provided by our paid staff. By volunteering at Calvary Cessnock you are becoming part of a legacy built on compassion and service.
