Campus is seeking experienced, mission-driven, student-centered Paralegal Studies Instructors to deliver high-impact, online courses as part of our ABA-approved Paralegal Studies Program. This role is ideal for legal professionals and educators who are passionate about student success, thrive in virtual learning environments, and are excited to prepare the next generation of practice-ready paralegals.

You’ll join a growing network of faculty dedicated to creating meaningful learning experiences for students from all backgrounds, particularly those historically underserved by higher education. In this role, you'll prepare students for careers in the legal profession by teaching practical legal research, writing, document preparation, and case analysis through assignments that reflect real-world legal practice. You'll also integrate legal technology and AI tools where appropriate while reinforcing professional responsibility, ethical decision-making, and the skills employers expect from practice-ready paralegals.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 11-week live, online courses using engaging, student-centered instructional strategies.

  • Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes active learning and student participation.

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.

  • Host weekly office hours to deepen student understanding and build community.

  • Work with Teaching Assistants who support grading and student check-ins, retaining instructor responsibility for the substantive evaluation of and feedback on student work; mentor the TA on effective grading and student engagement practices.

  • Evaluate student progress, maintain grade records, and submit mid quarter and end of quarter evaluations.

  • Attend required faculty meetings (held at least twice annually) covering program goals, course content, curriculum planning, instructional methodology and assessment

  • Collaborate with peers and Campus staff to share best practices and continuously improve instruction, and participate in program assessment, course evaluation, and curriculum review activities.

  • Contribute to co-curricular programming (e.g., speaker series, networking events) to enrich the student experience.

  • Stay current on developments in legal practice, legal technology, and pedagogical trends relevant to your subject area and online teaching, including the effective use of AI tools embedded in our curriculum.

Requirements

  • J.D., and/or master's degree in legal studies or a related field, or equivalent professional qualifications in paralegal education or legal practice.

  • Demonstrated professional legal experience in areas such as litigation, corporate law, family law, contracts, compliance, government, or public interest practice.

  • Knowledge of the paralegal profession and the paralegal’s role on the legal services delivery team; experience working with or as a paralegal strongly preferred.

  • At least 2 years of teaching experience at the college/university level.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom facilitation skills.

  • Comfort with digital tools and platforms, including LMS and video conferencing.

    • Digital fluency and the ability to effectively incorporate legal technology and AI-powered educational tools into instruction.

  • Proactive, reliable, and committed to high-quality online education.

  • Passion for equity, access, and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

  • Available to commit 8-10 hours per week per course, with some flexibility for training.

What We Offer

$8,000 per 4-credit course/11 week quarter
$5,000 per 1-2 credit course/11 week quarter
