The Payroll Coordinator supports the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of the organization’s biweekly payroll. This position processes payroll transactions; maintains payroll records; prepares reports, journal-entry support, and account reconciliations; and supports payroll tax filings and year-end activities, including annual Forms W-2, under the direction of the Payroll Supervisor. The Payroll Coordinator also assists with payroll and timekeeping systems, grant and labor allocation reporting, benefit reconciliations, and payroll-related audits. This position provides timely and professional service, protects confidential information, resolves routine discrepancies, and escalates complex or high-risk matters to the Payroll Supervisor.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, human resources, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of payroll experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- →Working knowledge of payroll practices, payroll taxation, wage withholding requirements, and basic accounting principles is required.
- →Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
- →Experience with payroll and timekeeping software is preferred.
- →Must be willing to use a personal vehicle for organizational travel when required.
