Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) – Full Scope

The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview

• Full-Scope Intrapartum Management: Manage active labor, spontaneous vaginal deliveries, and immediate postpartum care.
• Obstetrical Triage: Evaluate and manage acute triage presentations for pregnant patients.
• Postpartum Rounding: Conduct daily clinical evaluations and physical assessments for patients during their postpartum hospital stay.
• Hospital Scheduling: Fulfill inpatient coverage through a flexible rotation of 12-hour or 24-hour shifts.

• Prenatal & Postpartum Care: Provide comprehensive prenatal management and postpartum follow-up care.
• Gynecological & Well-Woman Services: Conduct routine annual exams, family planning, contraceptive counseling, and evaluation of gynecological concerns.
• Office Scheduling: Maintain a dedicated outpatient schedule consisting of 8-hour office days.

• Surgical First Assisting: Opportunity to obtain hospital privileges to serve as surgical First Assist for cesarean sections.
• Point-of-Care Ultrasound: Access to training and credentialing to perform limited obstetrical ultrasounds in the clinical setting.

• Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master of Science in Midwifery, or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an ACME-accredited program.
• Certification: Active board certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Certified Nurse Midwife license in the State of New Jersey (or eligible to obtain), along with prescriptive authority.
• Skills: Exceptional clinical judgment, strong interpersonal communication, and a passion for physiological birth within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
