The Regional Director of Hospitality is responsible for the overall operational performance of designated resort Associations within the region, including hospitality and resort operations; board relations; personnel management; budget development and financial oversight; contract retention and new business development. This role ensures adherence to company standards while providing effective leadership and strategic direction across all departments. By leveraging tools, programs, and best practices developed by Capital Vacations, the Regional Director successfully partners with the Regional VP of Hospitality, Boards of Directors of each resort Association assigned to Director to enhance operational excellence, maximize owner and guest satisfaction, and drive sustainable financial results.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Capital Vacations in the development of a Hospitality first culture at all Resorts within designated region. Elevate operations by incorporating tools provided by Capital Vacations to improve operating efficiency and Owner/Guest Satisfaction Scores in adherence with the annual budget.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with the Resort Association’s Board of Directors.
  • Increases personnel effectiveness through recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and as required, effective discipline; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.
  • Monitor provide and participate, when necessary, personnel, owners and guest resolution of issues that are not being effectively handled by the resort general managers and department heads/managers.
  • Represents Capital Vacations with the highest level of personal and professional integrity and character
  • Ensure all Resorts within the designated region meet Capital Vacations and industry standards of excellence
  • Prepares annual budgets consistent with the expectations set forth by the Board of Directors and Regional Vice President of Hospitality in advance of the established Budget Meeting Dates
  • Reviews monthly financial statements and makes necessary operational changes to adhere to budgetary guidelines.
  • Reviews purchases made at the Resort to ensure SOP adherence and budgetary guidelines
  • Takes effective action to control costs without sacrificing quality and service, including daily reviews of the revenue and payroll reports from the Resorts
  • Joins local industry affiliated organizations that may be beneficial to the property or the company as a whole
  • Reviews, monitors, and improves guest service scores and ensures Resorts achieve optimum rankings within their respective Resort tier.
  • Ensures completion of reserve and extensive maintenance projects are on schedule and within budget, including Preventative Maintenance programs for all Resorts.
  • Develops long-term operational and reserve plans for Resorts which support the overall objectives of the Association and the Capital Vacations.
  • Acts as a primary Capital Vacations liaison for the Board of Directors, General Managers, onsite team members, Corporate Partners, vendors, contractors, insurance agencies, and other site-specific contacts
  • Conducts routine Quality Assurance and Risk Management audits to ensure standards and compliance while maintaining written documentation with attention to follow-up.
  • Supervises the establishing of Board of Director and Annual Owner meetings, including dates, times, and locations, and disseminates the information to all necessary parties
  • Supervises and coordinates the completion of all Resort specific action list items, agenda, minutes, meeting notices, proxies, and ballot in preparations for all Board and Owner meetings
  • Is aware of and ensures adherence to all factors relating to safety and health, ensuring timely completion of meetings, training, and pertinent documentation under company policy and the brand standards, as well as federal and state regulations
  • Approves all communications to the Associations within the designated Resorts in the Director’s region.
  • Becomes familiar with and operates within both Capital Vacations Policies & Procedures as well as the individual Governing Documents (Declaration, Master Deed & Bylaws, Rules and Regulations) and federal and state laws that may apply.
  • Actively monitor and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal licensing.
  • Performs any other duties that may be required to ensure proper property operations or budget adherence.

Education, Essential Training / Certifications, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry or job-related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in multi-site hotel, resort, or hospitality operations, with a demonstrated track record of operational excellence, team leadership, financial performance, and guest satisfaction.

Time requirements: This is an exempt position that allows flexibility in daily activities. The position requires flexibility of work hours, the number of days worked each week and will require some weekends. Effective management will result in the appropriate time necessary to meet deadlines
