Rehab is a pain. So much so that only 10% of qualifying Cardiac and Pulmonary patients attend. At Carda Health, we’ve reimagined rehab. Our program allows patients to complete inspiring, convenient, life-saving therapy remotely.
We are a team of clinicians, data scientists, mathematicians and repeat entrepreneurs. And a few recovering financiers. Our belief is that technology and data, when applied to the right problem, transforms people’s lives and changes even the most entrenched industries. Carda was founded by Harry and Andrew, two friends from Wharton who share a family history of heart disease and experience with poor access to care. We now work with some of America’s largest and top-ranked hospitals and most innovative insurers. We are fortunate to be backed by some of the best investors in the business who have also backed the likes of Livongo, Hinge, Calm, MDLive, and others.
We are looking for a talented full-stack software engineer who loves building phenomenal products that have real meaning and add real value to people’s lives. You’ll work across the full stack from UI to business logic, backend APIs, data storage and architecture, and more. You’ll have a rare opportunity to work directly with the founders to build the product and infrastructure supporting the future of Carda Health. As an early hire in a pivotal role, you’ll have strong technical ownership and also help navigate uncharted business and product challenges.
This is a full-time position.
- Architect, develop, and deliver new functionality in the web-based version of our core product -- the app that delivers our remote rehab programs to patients and clinicians
- Build robust backend APIs, data models, and systems that will support both the frontend and the mobile app being built in parallel by your peers
- Design, develop, and help deploy AI agent workflows and algorithms to drive efficiency and improve patient experience
- Play a key role in developing the product vision
- Help develop and implement our strategy for collecting, reporting, analyzing and using data.
- Collaborate closely with everyone on the team. We welcome and encourage direct, honest and constructive feedback
- Support a thoughtful and fast-paced engineering culture of code quality, documentation and design tradeoffs
- Work remotely and flexibly — we’re all remote too!
- History of technical ownership for significant engineering projects
- 5+ years of full time, full-stack web application development experience across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- 5+ years of experience building backend services and APIs with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Django, Node.js, or similar
- Strong experience with SQL for data analysis and visualization in tools like Tableau, Looker, Metabase, or similar.
- Solid understanding of web APIs, networking fundamentals, database principles, and other technical foundations
- Positive attitude in the face of challenges and dogged determination to solve puzzles with little direction in a high-growth, early stage startup
- Proven ability to take product ownership and deliver successful results
- A keen eye for product and user experience
- Demonstrable interest in learning and adopting new tools and techniques
Nice to Have

- Experience working with native client applications (iOS or Android)
- Previous experience at an early stage startup
- Experience working with HIPAA compliant applications and data
