We are actively seeking a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to be the analytical engine behind how Career Now Brands makes decisions. This is a hands-on, build-it-yourself role rather than a seat at the top of an existing finance department. You will own budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, but the real value you create is judgment: telling us which clients and campaigns actually make money, what return we earned on the projects we funded, where the next dollar of investment should go, and what is changing in our industry before it shows up in our results. You will report to the President, work directly with the leadership team, and have room to grow into broader finance ownership as the company scales.
Own the annual budget, the rolling forecast, and monthly variance analysis — and explain the story behind the numbers to leadership, not just the numbers
Build and maintain client- and account-level profitability analysis: revenue, media spend, delivery cost, and contribution margin by client, brand, and product
Analyze company performance against plan across revenue, active logos, revenue per account, retention and churn, and the unit economics underneath them (CPL, cost per hire, media margin)
Build the business case and ROI framework for new projects, products, and headcount — then go back after the fact and measure whether we earned the return we underwrote
Partner with sales and marketing leadership on pricing, deal structure, and quota and commission modeling
Produce monthly and quarterly reporting packages for the leadership team and the board, including KPI dashboards and the narrative that goes with them
Own cash flow forecasting and work with our accounting partners through the monthly close so the numbers are timely, reconciled, and defensible
Turn data from HubSpot, Snowflake, QuickBooks, and ad platforms into a trusted set of financial and operating metrics — partnering with our data team rather than rebuilding everything in spreadsheets
Identify and size new areas of opportunity: underpriced services, underserved segments, adjacent verticals, partnerships, and acquisition targets
Track industry, competitive, and macro trends — freight cycle, driver capacity, labor market, recruitment marketing and AI landscape — and translate them into implications for our plan
Raise the standard of our financial operating cadence: cleaner inputs, fewer one-off spreadsheets
6+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, investment banking, or a comparable analytical finance role, including experience owning a forecast end to end
Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel— driver-based operating models, scenario analysis, and unit economics built to be maintained and trusted, not presented once and abandoned
Strong SQL, or the demonstrated ability to get there quickly; you are comfortable querying a data warehouse and working in BI tools instead of waiting on someone else to pull your data
Experience analyzing a recurring-revenue or services business: cohorts, retention and churn, revenue per account, contribution margin
Working knowledge of GAAP-basis financials and the monthly close — enough to partner credibly with accountants without needing to be one (CPA, CFA, or MBA welcome, none required)
A track record of influencing decisions rather than only reporting on them — you bring a recommendation, not just a variance
Nice to have: marketing services, media buying, staffing and recruiting, or HR tech experience; HubSpot, Snowflake, or Tableau; board-level reporting; M&A or diligence exposure
Commercially curious: genuinely interested in how our clients make money and how our products help them — you will spend real time with sales, media, and operations, not only in the model
Strong communicator: turns analysis into a clear point of view that a non-financial audience can act on, and knows which three numbers matter in a twenty-number deck
Fearless: willing to tell leadership when the data does not support the plan, and to defend the answer with the work behind it
Accountable: owns the accuracy of the numbers and the quality of the decisions they drive
Resourceful: gets to a defensible answer with imperfect data, and automates what should not be manual
Productive: knows the difference between analysis that changes a decision and analysis that just looks impressive
Ability to work Eastern Time Zone hours (hybrid, based in our Royal Oak headquarters)
Excel and Google Sheets
QuickBooks
HubSpot
Snowflake
SQL
Tableau
GA4
Google, Meta, and programmatic ad platforms
AI tooling for analysis and automation
