Clinical Lab Scientist I

Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist I performs various chemical, hematological, immunohematological, serological and microbiological tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.

• →Analyze clinical laboratory specimens following the standard methods and procedures.
• →Performs tests calibrations and runs Quality Control materials at appropriate intervals, and
• →Evaluates results to decide whether tests should be reported.
• →Determines the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• →Evaluates the acceptability of analysis prior to releasing patient results.
• →Responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance and laboratory equipment calibration.
• →Accurately performs and records proficiency testing.
• →Adheres to regulatory requirements and performs related tasks as needed or instructed.

Current California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist License

Experience as Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist Intern preferred
