This position will operate packaging equipment working on various packaging lines in multiple warehouses.

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Experience in food or feed industry manufacturing setting is preferred

· Forklift certification is required

WORKING CONDITIONS: Fast paced bio-processing manufacturing warehouse environment working both indoors and outdoors. May perform activities in an environment containing hazardous elements and requiring safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety, environmental and quality procedures (SOPs, JHAs, and ISO standards) in all functional areas must be strictly complied with.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

•Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, and eye/hand coordination for 6+ hours a day•Occasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, climbing ladders, balancing, pushing or pulling•Occasional lifting of 75 lbs. or less•Frequent lifting of 50 lbs. or less•Ability to operate general manufacturing powered equipment and tools•Ability to wear respirators according to respiratory protection program

· Must be self-motivated and show a willingness to learn

· Computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, EMaint., SAP, Velocity, etc.)

· Ability to multi-task

· Ability to professionally interact and communicate with others

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

· Mechanical aptitude and/or a willingness to learn how to troubleshoot mechanical issues

· Use of required personal protective equipment when in the manufacturing environment

· Working around large manufacturing machines and equipment

· Other general equipment used at an industrial site (i.e. hoist, pallet jack, freight elevator, etc.)

•Packaging, Warehouse, & Record-Keeping DutiesAssists with loading product in dry vans as needed/requestedPerforms daily checks/inspections & preventative maintenance of equipmentAssists with end of month inventory activitiesEnsures all required production and packaging documentation is accurate and completeKnowledge of all LOTO locations of packaging process, to assist maintenance when PM or repairs are needed in the processTroubleshoots minor malfunctions with equipment following all safety protocolsAssists with unloading and delivery of raw materials to Production Plants – as needed/requestedComplete daily quality checks on equipment, metal detection, scale verification, date code applications, scanner operations, composite sample checks; completing daily documentation accurately and legiblyOperation of a forklift without causing damage to final product, equipment, or propertyResponsible for daily re-pack and re-process, delivery of end of day paperwork to WH officeSweep WH floor and operate Tennant T12 floor scrubber if neededTake recyclables (scrap pallets, cardboard, plastics, etc.) outside to correct recycle location or container.Clean up along the packaging line making sure dust levels are minimized

•Continuous Improvement & CollaborationCollaborate with other departments within the company to accomplish tasks/goals as neededSuggest/implement process improvement, cost down, or best practice ideasContinually strive for increasing processing efficienciesComplete 5S activities to keep the work area clean and organizedIdentify process equipment issues/leaks and submit work orders in Emaint
