The Warranty Analyst works closely with Prime Product Sales, Packaging, Data Center, Service, Product Support Sales, and Parts to manage warranty claims from identification through final settlement, along with related documentation, enrollment, and training. This collaboration helps ensure customers receive appropriate warranty support and Altorfer recovers eligible costs for engines, generators, packaged equipment, and related components.

  • Coordinate and manage Altorfer’s warranty claims process to deliver world-class service to internal and external customers while maximizing recovery and minimizing expense.

  • Maintain warranty procedure documentation and ensure Caterpillar, Altorfer, packager, and third-party vendor requirements and procedures are communicated and followed.
  • Interpret technician findings, repair reports, and technical repair data to validate warranty eligibility. Review parts, labor, travel, and outside service expenses for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility under applicable warranty policies.
  • Determine applicable warranty coverage and coordinate claims with Caterpillar, packagers, and third-party suppliers for engines, generators, enclosures, cooling systems, controls, and other packaged components.
  • Monitor outstanding claims and submission and appeal deadlines; resolve discrepancies, submit contest claims, and follow recovery through final settlement and payment. Escalate significant disputes, overdue claims, and recovery risks to appropriate leadership.
  • Review non-allowed or returned claims and resubmit for last-chance recovery or potential factory goodwill support with appropriate supporting justification.
  • Coordinate required failed-part retention, return, and disposition with applicable departments and suppliers.
  • Answer warranty coverage questions from internal personnel and external customers. Obtain required factory, vendor, or management approval for coverage exceptions, goodwill requests, and commitments outside established authority.
  • Provide training support for internal and external customers on warranty claim requirements, documentation, and processes.
  • Reconcile the warranty variance report with Accounting monthly and resolve or escalate outstanding differences.
  • Prepare periodic reports on warranty recovery, claim aging, settlement variances, and recurring issues. Identify errors, documentation deficiencies, and troubleshooting gaps, and collaborate with leadership on improvements to recovery and processing time.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
