- Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.
Responsibilities
~1 min readThe director of pharmacy plans, organizes, controls, and supervises activities in hospital pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws. Recommends innovations in the practice and function of the hospital pharmacy to Administration and carries out mutually agreed upon programs and corporate initiatives. In addition the director of pharmacy should provide support, mentoring, and oversight of the activities of the clinical pharmacists and supportive personnel on staff.
Requirements

- B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
- 3+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience with 2+ year’s supervisory or leadership experience.
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
- Other applicable state requirements – i.e. sterile compounding, etc.
- BLS certification.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in the legal responsibilities of the pharmacist to the facility and all state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office applications, Electronic Medical Record Systems.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
- 5+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience.
- ALS/ACLS certification. (Required if attending Code Blue).
