LV Technician

Reporting to the Supervisor – Maintenance, the LV Mechanic is responsible performing routine maintenance and repairs on Light Vehicles in the mining industry. Supports the Maintenance department's efforts to ensure the reliability and performance of Light Vehicle Fleet.

Location: Blackwater Mine site

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

  Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.

  Performing routine maintenance and repairs on Light Vehicles / Aux equipment, including- Light trucks, Class 7/8 highway trucks, UTV and Snowmobiles.

  Apply proper diagnostic techniques to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment.

  Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new challenges, while contributing to the overall success of the Maintenance department.

• →May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.

   

• Automotive Technician Red Seal Certification

   

• Valid driver's license

• Ford Dealer/OEM experience would be considered an asset.

• Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation

   

• Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team

   

• Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift

   

• Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift

   

• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

   

• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.

   

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

   

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
