Medical Science Liaison, Ophthalmology (Southwest)

Uniphar BESTMSLs is excited to partner with an innovative, growth-stage biopharmaceutical company seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join its expanding Field Medical team and cover the Southwest territory. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of science, education, and clinical practice while helping shape the future of care in ophthalmology.

You'll join a highly collaborative Medical Affairs organization where your scientific expertise and field insights will directly influence strategy. This role offers significant visibility, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to engage leading ophthalmologists and optometrists across a large and impactful territory.

As an MSL, you will serve as a trusted scientific partner to key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals throughout your region. Responsibilities include:

• →Building and maintaining strategic relationships with ophthalmology and optometry KOLs
• →Leading compliant scientific exchange and disease state education
• →Delivering clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare providers and stakeholders
• →Gathering actionable field insights and communicating them to internal teams
• →Supporting medical education initiatives, advisory boards, publications, and investigator-initiated research
• →Participating in regional and national scientific congresses and professional society meetings
• →Collaborating closely with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial, and Market Access teams
• →Supporting clinical trial activities and broader medical strategy initiatives

• OD, MD, PharmD, or PhD required
• Prior MSL experience required
• Ophthalmology or eye care expertise preferred
• Candidates with significant clinical eye care experience and industry exposure will also be considered
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to translate complex scientific information into meaningful discussions
• Strong strategic thinking and insight-gathering capabilities
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working independently in a field-based role

The territory includes: Southern California, Nevada, and Hawaii.

Candidates will ideally be located in: Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego. Candidates should reside within the territory, preferably near a major airport.

This is a field-based role requiring approximately 60-80% travel.
