This position is located in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine, Fort Gordon, Georgia.

 

 

 

 

Ft Gordon is adjacent to Augusta, GA famous for its major attraction, The Masters Golf Tournament. Ft Gordon has a moderate year-round climate and offers close proximity to metropolitan areas, beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and the Appalachian Mountains.

Responsibilities

  • →Responds to the site of accidents or other emergencies involving injury, illness, or potential environmental risks.
  • →Assesses condition of patient(s) and selects from a variety of protocols one or several that are deemed appropriate under the given circumstances and based on the paramedics’ evaluation.
  • →Triages patients to determine which patients are treated and transported first and makes notifications to inform the appropriate medical facility ER of a possible Mass Casualty Incident (MCI).
  • →Recognizes, stabilizes, and treats a wide variety of medical emergencies, (i.e., heart attacks, state of hydration, strokes, environmental [heat exhaustion, heat stroke, etc.], burns [thermal, radiation, and electrical], suicidal patients, etc.)
  • →Maintains Emergency Vehicles (EV) readiness and inspects vehicles for repairs.
  • →Operates EV safely and adheres to traffic ordinances and regulations pertaining to the operation of the EV.
