We are seeking a skilled and experienced Security Guard to join our team! As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests and staff. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think quickly in high-stress situations. The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center’s name reflects the contributions of the extraordinary entrepreneur, Andrew Higgins, who designed and built over 20,000 boats in New Orleans that were used in every major amphibious assault of World War II.

• → Make safety and security patrols of property and facility. In a timely manner, report to management any unusual observations. 
• →Protect guests and employees from harm and prevent theft and/or destruction of property. 
• →Write shift reports and security incident reports. 
• →Investigate/handle complaints, incidences, accidents, and emergencies. 
• →Ensure/maintain key control. 
• →Attend all mandatory meetings. 

• High school diploma or equivalent required  
• CPR certification required; must obtain within 30 days of hire
• Prior security/law enforcement experience, hotel preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Read, write and speak English fluently
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and first aid/CPR certification preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
