Distribution Design Engineer II/III

Join our innovative team as a Staff Engineer II/III, where you will play a crucial role in designing and coordinating modern and reliable electric distribution systems. This position is based in Panama and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality and impactful projects.

• Surveys of electric distribution systems, documenting conditions and collecting data for design purposes. Work closely with construction crews to ensure the implementation of designs.
• Design Tasks: Utilize AutoCAD, GIS systems, and pole loading software (IKE Poleforeman, Ocalc, SpidaCalc) to design overhead and underground electric distribution systems. Prepare comprehensive design packages including drawings, material lists, and cost estimates.
• Project Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between design teams, field personnel, and stakeholders. Manage schedules, resolve field issues, and support construction phases.
• Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical insights, and address design challenges.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation and project deliverables in alignment with client specifications and timelines.

• Timely and precise completion of field surveys and design packages.
• Effective coordination of projects and resolution of design and field issues.
• Competent management of multiple tasks and consistent communication across project teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.  
• 2-3 years of experience in distribution system design and proven ability to manage design tasks from inception to completion as well as some field experience.
• Familiarity with distribution systems, AutoCAD,GIS systems, and pole loading software (IKE Poleforeman, Ocalc, SpidaCalc). 
• Staff Engineer III: Same as above, but with 3-4 years of experience and expertise in project coordination and resolving complex field issues. Demonstrated success in leading project coordination and providing field support.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
