Requirements
~1 min readRequires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Develop new and modify existing electronics in the form of PCB designs
- →Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including analog signal conditioning and communication interfaces
- →Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware
- →Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems
- →Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions to design hardware and electronics based on commercial and industry components and technologies
- →Generate design and interface documentation
- →Design cable assemblies
- →Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
- Experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases
- Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS
- Experience in analog and digital circuit design
- Experience with lab equipment including signal generators, high speed oscilloscopes, and digital logic analyzers
- Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture or Mentor Graphics Xpedition experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc.
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Experience with firmware or microcontrollers a plus
- Experience with VHDL/Verilog a plus
