Program Instructor (Part-time)

We are currently accepting resumes for part-time Recreation Program Instructors. This position will be responsible for ensuring recreation programs are fun, safe and engaging for participants. Guided by the goals and objectives of the City of Guelph Corporate Strategic Plan and committed to the Corporate Values of integrity, service, inclusion, wellness and learning, the candidate will aid in the achievement of the Community Vision for an inclusive, connected, prosperous city.

• →Plan, organize, and deliver high quality, safe and stimulating activities for recreation programs.
• →Maintain a safe and clean program space; as well as ensure equipment/supplies are safe, age appropriate and stored properly.
• →Completes administrative duties (i.e. Attendance, Accident/Incident Reports, opening and closing duties, etc.).
• →Take action to deal with incidents, problems, and emergencies as outlined in City of Guelph policies and procedures.
• →Report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action.
• →Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
• →Provide a high level of customer service to participants and caregivers.
• →Performs other duties as assigned.

• Experience working with youth aged 2-12 years, preferably in a recreation setting.
• Experience creating and delivering recreational programming.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to respect and maintain participant confidentiality.
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C certification.
• A satisfactory Police Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.

Pay/Salary$18.68 per hour
