Medical Assistant Scope Line - Surgical Specialists

Seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to oversee the colonoscopy process in our general surgery practice. This is an office based role.

• →Maintain colonoscopy referral pool
• →Review patient medical histories and medication lists to identify risk factors
• →Conduct pre-procedure patient assessments and interviews
• →Provide detailed instructions regarding bowel preparation, medication management, and procedure expectations
• →Coordinate scheduling of procedures with surgical team and facility staff
• →Ensure all required diagnostic tests and clearances are completed and documented
• →Complete pre-certification with insurance companies 
• →Follow up with patients regarding pathology results and additional care requirements
• →Coordinate follow-up appointments and referrals as needed
• →Maintain an organized log for patients needing repeat colonoscopies 
• →Work cooperatively with all team members to ensure efficient office operations

• Requires completion of a Medical Assistant training program or a certification in Medical Assisting
• Knowledge of colonoscopy procedures and related care protocols
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Electronic medical record proficiency
• BLS Certification
