Responsibilities

  • →Under the supervision of a Pharmacist and accountable to the Pharmacy Director, assists the department in the procurement, packaging, distribution, and control of medication to the patients
  • →Receives and stocks medications
  • →Prepares unit dose, bulk, and intravenous medications for dispensing
  • →Pre-packages non-unit dose medications
  • →Checks Pyxis inventory and refills medications in Pyxis units
  • →Provides delivery of doses
  • →Prepares IV Admixtures
  • →Demonstrates thorough knowledge of patients' right to confidentiality

Requirements

  • Must have basic math skills
  • National certification preferred or must be completed within one year
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
