- Schedule may include meetings and trainings outside of normal work hours, so flexibility is necessary.
- These positions are eligible for a shift differential specific to weekday overnight hours($2.00/hr), weekend hours ($4.00/hr), and weekend overnight hours ($6.00/hr).

- Location: Lenexa Police Department (17371 Prairie Star Pkwy)

- Schedule Options: Sunday – Thursday or Tuesday – Saturday, 4 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Location: Overland Park Police Department (8500 Antioch)
- Openings: 1
- Schedule: Wednesday – Saturday 2 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Location: Olathe Police Department (501 E Hwy 56)
- Openings: 1
- Schedule Rotation: Olathe Co-Responders follow a quarterly rotation of their schedule. The schedules are:
- Sunday – Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday – Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
- Wednesday – Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday – Saturday, 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
There will be a bidding process with all four co-responders, each co-responder will rotate through each of the above schedules throughout the year, with schedules changing each quarter. Co-Responders may have the option to trade shifts with one another, as long as, both staff members agree and the trade is approved by the Co-Responder Team Leader.
Requirements
~1 min readMaster’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other Human Services field and Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure* at the master’s level in the area of focus are required. May require a KS/MO driver’s license, depending on department or agency.
*Applicants who meet Kansas licensure requirements may be considered if Kansas licensure is obtained by time of an employment offer and licensure is pending confirmation at the time of employment application. Candidates must be able to meet REJIS/KCJIS requirements (for law enforcement positions) and will be required to successfully complete a background investigation, including post-offer polygraph and drug screen, as a condition of employment.
Kansas Behavioral Sciences license at the clinical level and one year of experience in the area of focus is preferred.
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
