Markon is seeking a Software Developer (Alpha) to support an Intelligence Community client in Chantilly, Virginia. This position will design, develop, troubleshoot, and enhance complex software applications while collaborating closely with technical teams and end users. The Software Developer will support full-stack and backend development, build scalable solutions, and deploy applications within modern cloud and virtualized environments.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Support a development team responsible for maintaining and enhancing mission applications.
- →Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug complex software applications.
- →Develop innovative solutions to improve application performance, scalability, and distributed processing capabilities.
- →Track and maintain highly technical data used for analytical and troubleshooting activities.
- →Collaborate with team members to clarify technical requirements and resolve development obstacles.
- →Develop and maintain full-stack software solutions, including backend functionality and APIs.
- →Support application deployment within cloud-based and virtualized environments.
- →Participate in development activities using Agile software development methodologies.
- →Communicate effectively with technical team members and end users to support development and mission objectives.
- →Maintain current technical knowledge and skills as software development technologies and practices evolve.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree related to the technical discipline and at least 3 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- No degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- At least 2 years of full-stack software development experience.
- In-depth experience developing applications using Node.js.
- Experience with backend development and API creation.
- Experience deploying applications within cloud-based or virtualized environments, such as AWS, Azure, VMware, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug complex software applications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment and engage with end users.
- Strong understanding of internet protocols and networking technologies used by Internet Service Providers to provision networks, including MPLS and Ethernet VLANs.
- Understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, such as Vue, Angular, or React.
