MENTAL HEALTH TECH-ADULT

Under supervision, to perform work involving the delivery of basic services and care to behavioral health patients. Performs selected patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team providing support to the patient's therapeutic treatment plan.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

→Provides care services related to the type of scheduled activity on the unit and treatment plan, including recreational, art, media, self-expression, physical exercise, etc.

→Assists patients and other staff with ambulation, transfers and repositioning as needed.

→Assists with the patient's activities of daily living, including such activities as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, feeding, etc.

→Measures and obtains and records and reports patient's vital signs, weight, I&O, glucometer testing, etc.

→Monitors patients based upon safety precautions as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Ability to clearly communicate with the multidisciplinary team members
• Post high school education may be substituted for the work experience requirement on a year for year basis.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent General Studies Required
• One (1) year of work experience as a healthcare provider, preferably in a behavior health setting, or a closely related field is required.
• 1 Healthcare/Medical Required
• Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
