Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Supervise daily Ocean Export operations and provide direction, guidance, and support to Export staff.
- →Monitor workload, shipment activity, and deadlines to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- →Oversee export shipments including bookings, documentation, AES/EEI filing, bills of lading, cargo coordination, tracking, and billing.
- →Assist with complex shipments, operational issues, customer escalations, and service failures.
- →Communicate and coordinate with customers, overseas offices, carriers, truckers, warehouses, vendors, and internal departments.
- →Ensure export documentation and shipment files are accurate and compliant with company procedures and applicable regulations.
- →Train, coach, and support Export staff and assist management with employee development.
- →Prepare and review customer quotations and coordinate rates with carriers, vendors, overseas offices, and Sales.
- →Monitor billing accuracy, Accounts Receivable issues, and shipment profitability as needed.
- →Support customer onboarding, SOP development, process improvement, and corrective actions.
- →Maintain strong customer relationships and assist in resolving service issues.
- →Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Salary Pay Range: $70,304.00 Yr - $86,400.00Yr
This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant education or equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Minimum five (5) years of ocean freight forwarding experience, with strong experience in Ocean Export operations.
- Minimum two (2) years of team leadership, supervisory, or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Ocean Export operations, documentation, Incoterms, compliance requirements, and carrier/vendor coordination.
- Ability to independently handle operational issues, complex shipments, and customer escalations.
- Experience training, supporting, and overseeing staff.
- Strong customer service, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with experience using freight forwarding or logistics systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments and with customers, vendors, and overseas offices.
- Ability to identify and support process improvements.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships in a multicultural environment.
- Experience with Ocean Export operations and/or Dangerous Goods shipments is preferred but not required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Great computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook)
This position will interact with branch colleagues, leadership staff, and office /warehouse personnel. Must be able to work with customers, vendors, and outside organizations.
