Supply Chain Leader, Near Term Planning

The Novelis Supply Chain team is seeking a Supply Chain Leader, Near Term Planning to lead weekly production and capacity planning, inventory planning, and near-term supply-demand balancing across the manufacturing network. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Integrated Planning and lead a team of approximately two employees. The ideal candidate will translate facility, demand, and sales and operations planning inputs into a balanced and feasible one-to-eight-week production plan; resolve constraints through material-flow changes, inventory deployment, operational countermeasures, and demand alignment; and provide clear performance insights to stakeholders. This position will enable realistic facility plans, reduce plant-level prioritization conflicts, and support stable material flow across the network.

Responsibilities

• →Create and submit timely near-term production plans for each facility in the network, balancing demand, supply, capacity, and inventory.
• →Resolve overloaded or underloaded conditions by coordinating material rerouting, inventory use, operational constraint removal, and demand shifts with cross-functional stakeholders.
• →Monitor network supply-demand balance and identify constraints early, initiating countermeasures with Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, and Recycling teams.
• →Develop and manage key performance indicators and visual reporting for plan performance, customer requirements, demand forecasts, capacity utilization, and inventory.
• →Provide regular insights and reports to network leadership and cross-functional teams to enable informed decision-making.
• →Hold stakeholders accountable to agreed sales, production, supplier-performance, and inventory targets established through annual planning and sales and operations planning
• →Develop team members through training, coaching, feedback, and targeted assignments.
• →Lead supply chain development of next-generation Near Term Planning / Sales & Operations Execution software and business practices.
• →Serve as primary backup to the Senior Manager for end-to-end planning responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• →Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, computer science with a supply chain focus, or a comparable field.
• →Five to seven years of supply chain experience in the metals industry, including experience in a leadership role.
• →Strong knowledge of supply chain methods used to manage inventory, customer delivery, and capacity utilization.
• →Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and translate findings into a business context.
• →Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization and with internal and external customers.
• →Demonstrated flexibility, urgency, and sound judgment when responding to disruptions in material flow.
• →Strong people-leadership skills, with the ability to develop a direct team and influence stakeholders outside the team.

Preferred Qualifications

• →Experience supporting metals manufacturing operations.
• →Association for Supply Chain Management certification.
• →Experience with SAP or similar MRP system.
• →Experience navigating data warehousing.
