Faculty, Speech Communication, Part-time

The faculty will be responsible for the educational leadership and in-person student instruction on a part-time basis in Speech Communication courses.

• Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication, or closely related discipline. Required
• Master's Degree in Speech Communication, or closely related discipline. Preferred
• Coursework in or experience using technology in instruction. Preferred

• Equivalent of one year high school or college experience teaching Speech Communication. Required

• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff and the public. Required
• Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty and staff. Required
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
• Developed organizational skills. Required
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. Required

 

• →Instruct and evaluate students in Speech Communication courses.
• →Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
• →Take attendance and maintain records of student attendance.
• →Participate in School assessment process.
• →Maintain office hours according to the standardized parttime teaching agreement.

The part-time rate for 2026/27 will be the greater of $1180 per credit or $787 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $49.19 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
