Non-credit Instructor Practical Nursing, Part-time

Penn College is seeking dedicated, student-focused nursing professionals to join our team as Non-Credit Practical Nursing Instructors. In this part-time role, you will provide high-quality instruction and/or clinical supervision to students enrolled in our clock-hour Practical Nursing Program. Your expertise will help prepare the next generation of compassionate, skilled practical nurses.

This position is available at both our Williamsport and Wellsboro locations. During the application process, you will be able to indicate your preferred campus.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
• Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred

• RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current Pennsylvania RN license. Required

• One (1) year of clinical nursing experience within two years of employment. Required
• Relevant teaching experience on the secondary or post secondary level. Preferred

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form in English.  Required
• Developed organizational skills. Required
• Must be certified in CPR at the Basic Life Support level or higher, and maintain certification. Required
• Must possess a valid driver's license. Preferred
• Ability to provide instruction in subject area for which hired. Required
• Functional ability with microcomputer functions. Required
• Knowledge of learning theory and classroom management techniques. Required
• Ability to work independently. Required

• →Provide non-credit classroom and/or clinical instruction in the clock-hour practical nursing program.
• →Identify student performance problems as they surface and consult with staff for resolution of the problem.
• →Assist the student to benefit from adequate clinical experience by offering effective supervision and instruction in the clinical area.
• →Assist other non-credit instructors and school administrators with laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.
• →Provide feedback to students and complete program evaluations.
• →Maintain daily attendance records.
• →Secure materials needed for instruction.
• →Develop lesson plans; prepare assignments, supplemental teaching materials, sample tests, etc.
• →Must comply with policies and procedures of clinical sites where instructing students.
• →Attend a minimum of one nursing program meeting per level.
• →Attend clinical facility orientations and updates as required by those facilities.

• Standing or walking for extended periods of time. 
• Multiple physical positioning including full range of motion. 
• Fine motor dexterity.
