Sr Field Service Engineer

Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $87,000.00/Yr. - USD $144,900.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

• Providing waterfront support to afloat naval platforms
• Working on various naval platforms and within a lab environment
• Testing and troubleshooting UHF systems
• Performing on-platform installation, troubleshooting, and testing of naval communication systems and equipment
• Performing system-level software testing to accurately validate operational readiness
• Performing installation and verification tests on UHF systems
• Performing inspection and testing of installed antennas and antenna lines
• Repairing electronics assemblies, cables, systems

• 12 or more years of hands-on experience supporting shipboard Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) radio communications equipment on multiple classes of naval platforms to include installation, operating, troubleshooting and repair of shipboard UHF line of sight and SATCOM equipment
• Expertise in operation, analysis and troubleshooting of UHF LOS and SATCOM communication systems
• Direct experience testing and troubleshooting radio frequency (RF) systems, including spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and digital multi-meters, as well as basic antenna troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of interfacing equipment including DMR, WSC-3, PRC-117, PRC-158, SA-2112 SAS/BAS, TVS, cryptographic devices, NAVMACS, couplers, TA-970 and antenna systems
• Experienced with RF system components such as amplifiers, filters, mixers, couplers, splitters/combiners, and antennas
• Ability to effectively communicate via oral and written communications with a variety of stakeholders to include government civilians, technical staff, junior, senior and executive staff military personnel
• Knowledge of combat systems department roles and responsibilities
• Knowledge of shipboard evolutions impacting testing and troubleshooting RF
• CompTIA Security+ Certification (Within 6 months of hire)
• Ability to work successfully in a collaborative and diverse environment and be a team player
• Ability to stand or walk while lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling heavy objects; requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Packaging, handling, storage, and transportation of materials and equipment
• Will be required to obtain a passport
• Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS 30% (nonconsecutive)
• High degree of self-motivation
• Secret Clearance

• Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS 30% (nonconsecutive)

• Strong knowledge of shipboard system installations and associated documentation to include SIDs and system technical manuals
• Significant knowledge of shipboard radio communications center
• Significant experience working through shipboard evolutions and communicating with combat systems chain of command
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance on UHF and legacy equipment
• Previous hands-on experience working with various green gear radios
• Previous experience troubleshooting TA-970 red phones
