Quick Summary

What We Offer
~2 min readAspen Grove Veterinary Care is a busy, fast-growing small animal practice in beautiful Fort Collins. Our services range from annual vaccines and wellness visits to internal medicine, surgery, and urgent care, so no two days look the same.
We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant who loves hands-on patient care as much as connecting with clients. Whether you’re an RVT or a skilled vet assistant ready for more responsibility, you’ll find room to grow here.
- You’ll use your skills. Our veterinary nurses are used to their fullest potential. That means anesthesia, diagnostics, imaging, and hospitalized patient care, not just restraint.
- You’ll have great equipment. Digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, therapy laser, CO2 surgical laser, ECG, doppler blood pressure, CryoPen, Tono-Pen, critical care oxygen kennels, and a full-service in-house lab.
- Every day is varied. Wellness, internal medicine, surgery, and urgent care keep things interesting and keep you learning.
- We’re a growing practice. As we grow, there’s more room to grow with us.
- It feels like family. Our team takes well-being seriously and supports each other.
- We help with the extras, including a $250 annual uniform allowance and a CE allowance to keep sharpening your skills.
- You’ll live and work in Fort Collins, a great place to work and play.
- Monitor patients under anesthesia during surgical and dental procedures
- Perform venipuncture and blood draws, and run in-house lab diagnostics
- Assist with diagnostic imaging, including radiographs, dental radiographs, and ultrasound
- Care for hospitalized and critical patients, including treatments and monitoring
- Assist with surgery, urgent care cases, and internal medicine workups
- Write clear, accurate medical notes
- Educate clients on care plans, home care, and preventive medicine
- Deliver an outstanding, compassionate experience for every client and patient
- Work closely with veterinarians and teammates to keep the day running smoothly
Responsibilities may vary based on hospital needs as well as your experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned responsibilities.
- Experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant in a small animal setting
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credential is welcomed but not required
- Strong technical skills, including anesthesia monitoring, blood draws, in-house diagnostics, and imaging
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Accurate, organized medical record-keeping
- The ability to stay calm and focused in a busy, fast-paced practice
- A team-player attitude and a genuine love for animals and their people
- The ability to stand for extended periods and lift and restrain animals of varying sizes
