ITT Micro-Mode is seeking a Swiss Screw Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team in El Cajon, CA. This role is responsible for operating Citizen K16 Swiss-style CNC machines to produce small, high-precision components for business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have experience with Swiss-type lathes, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures to ensure consistent part quality and production efficiency.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Operate Citizen K16 Swiss-style CNC machines to manufacture precision components.
- →Load raw materials and monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and specifications.
- →Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators) and document results.
- →Follow setup instructions, work orders, and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
- →Perform basic machine adjustments and offsets as needed to maintain part quality.
- →Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and 5S standards.
- →Communicate with setup personnel, programmers, and quality inspectors to resolve production issues.
- →Perform routine machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues.
- →Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
- →Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- High School diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience, with at least 1+ years operating Swiss-style CNC machines.
- Experience with Citizen K16 machines strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with CNC controls and machine interface operations.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed.
