Lead Python Engineer
Quick Summary
Empowering the people that make global commerce happen.
CargoSprint is made up of a world-class team of highly motivated individuals who are passionate about transforming the cargo industry. We have developed cutting-edge digital solutions that streamline cargo operations, enhance efficiency, and improve the overall experience for everyone involved. Our workplace fosters innovation, collaboration, and the drive to solve industry challenges.
We’re looking for a senior, hands-on Python engineer who can lead a fast-moving, talented team and take ideas from concept to production while owning the full cycle along the way. You’ll design and architect backend services, build APIs, work deeply with databases, ensure quality through strong unit testing, and apply DevOps practices to deploy, monitor, and improve systems in production— while mentoring and growing the engineers around you. This role is ideal for a player-coach who thrives in startup-like environments, moves quickly, operates with a high degree of ownership, set a high bar for the team and already leverages AI to work faster and better.
About the role
You will lead a small engineering team and design, architect, build, and evolve backend services that power critical parts of our platform. You’ll set the technical direction, raise the engineering bar, and unblock the team while staying hands-on in the codebase. You should be comfortable turning ideas into reliable software that solves real user needs, and equally comfortable coaching other engineers to do the same. You should care about shipping quickly, making sound technical decisions, measuring results, growing the people around you, and improving over time in a high-ownership, high-autonomy environment.
