Transition Services Team Member

Caring Transitions Lee’s Summit is looking for a dependable, compassionate, hands-on team member to help individuals and families through the process of downsizing, relocating, and clearing a home.

This is not your typical moving job. Our team works closely with clients and their belongings—helping sort, organize, pack, unpack, set up new homes, prepare items for online estate auctions, and clear remaining items from a residence.

As a Transition Services Team Member, your responsibilities may include:

• →Carefully packing and unpacking household belongings
• →Helping clients sort and organize items during downsizing projects
• →Setting up and organizing clients’ new homes after a move
• →Sorting and processing household items for online estate auctions
• →Photographing, grouping, organizing, and preparing items for auction
• →Moving furniture, boxes, and household items
• →Helping clear remaining contents from homes
• →Loading and unloading vehicles and moving equipment
• →Keeping work areas organized and projects moving efficiently
• →Treating clients, their homes, and their belongings with care and respect
• →Working closely with other team members to complete projects on schedule

• Willing to jump in and help wherever needed
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Able to make thoughtful decisions while working efficiently
• Careful when handling furniture, collectibles, and personal belongings
• Comfortable using a smartphone and learning our online auction process
• Able to perform physical work, including standing, bending, lifting, carrying, and moving household items

Experience in moving, packing, estate sales, auctions, organizing, retail, caregiving, staging, or similar work is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.

The work we do is about much more than moving boxes.

Our clients are often going through a major life transition. They may be downsizing a home they have lived in for decades, moving to a senior community, settling an estate, or helping a family member make a difficult move.

We need team members who understand that the things we handle aren't simply "stuff." They often represent a lifetime of memories.

We work hard, we work together, and we try to make an overwhelming process easier for the families we serve.

• Part-time / project-based position
• Daytime weekday availability is especially important
• Hours may vary depending on scheduled projects
• Work takes place at clients’ homes and other locations throughout the Lee’s Summit area
• Reliable transportation is required
