Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, skid steers, backhoes, haul trucks, and other assigned machinery.
- →Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
- →Conduct excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, material movement, and site preparation activities.
- →Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and project specifications.
- →Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
- →Perform routine maintenance, including fueling, lubricating, cleaning, and minor adjustments.
- →Follow all safety regulations, company policies, MSHA and OSHA requirements.
- →Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, utilities, and environmental hazards.
- →Coordinate with supervisors, truck drivers, laborers, and other equipment operators to ensure efficient project completion.
- →Complete equipment inspection reports, maintenance logs, and production records.
- →Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience operating heavy construction or industrial equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of safe equipment operating practices.
Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and enter/exit equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to see, hear, and react quickly to changing job-site conditions.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour certification.
- Experience with GPS-guided or grade-control systems.
- Equipment-specific certifications or training.
Experience in construction, utilities, roadwork, mining, or industrial operations.
- Equipment operation and control.
- Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of excavation and grading procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Outdoor construction, industrial, quarry, agricultural, or utility environments.
- Exposure to dust, vibration, noise, and changing weather conditions.
- May require overtime, weekends, and travel to different job sites.
Regular operation of heavy machinery around moving vehicles and personnel.
