About the Role
~1 min readCarrier is looking for mechanical and/or thermal engineering majors with demonstrated leadership ability and strong academic performance to join our competitive Carrier Engineering Leadership Program (ELP). The ELP offers graduates an opportunity to deliver impactful contributions to strategic projects through three, eight-month rotations across various Carrier centers of excellence and business units.
Candidates selected for the program will receive front-line, hands-on, meaningful assignments designed to stretch their capabilities and accelerate their professional development. In addition to the hands-on experience, the program includes high-caliber training, mentorship, and guidance from our diverse team of Carrier executives and program alumni to build a strong and lasting global network of colleagues.
ELP rotation locations can include Syracuse, NY; Atlanta, GA; Kennesaw, GA; Charlotte, NC; Indianapolis, IN; and/ or Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Responsibilities
~1 min readThe program offers the opportunity to build technical and leadership skills within a professional, cross-functional environment. In addition, program participants will have exposure to:
- →Chiller system design and qualification
- →Thermodynamics based modeling and optimization of chiller system design
- →Develop heat exchanger components in collaboration with heat transfer technology experts.
- →ASME pressure vessel design
- →Confirm product design performance, capability and reliability in the engineering product test laboratories
- →Collaborate with both internal and external compression development teams to seamlessly integrate compressor designs into chiller system designs
- →Collaborate with manufacturing faculties to effectively implement design into production
- →Collaborate with the product marketing teams to develop product requirements and ensure that the product meets their needs when launched
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
- GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA
- Must be geographically mobile and willing to relocate for rotations.
- To be eligible for the program, you must graduate in 2026 or 2027 with an engineering degree and be available to start the Leadership Program in June 2027.
- Prior internship experience preferred.
- HVAC industry experience/course work or thesis, preferred.
- Proactive and results-driven; thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated technical understanding and skills in general engineering, mechanical, systems, electrical, Model-based development (MBD), software, or chemical
