Staff Engineer, Sustaining Electrical

Key Responsibilities:

• Owns sustaining engineering for product electrical systems, power distribution and wiring.
• Investigates and resolves field and production electrical issues through root-cause analysis.
• Develops electrical design improvements, cost reductions and component-obsolescence solutions.
• Maintains electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs and change control (ECN/ECO).
• Supports agency certification and compliance activities (UL, CSA, NEC).
• Supports production troubleshooting, test-stand development and validation.
• Partners with suppliers on electrical components and qualification.
• Provides technical guidance to technicians and less-experienced engineers.
• Travel up to 10%.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in a product or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• HVAC/refrigeration product experience.
• 7+ years of experience in control panel design and layout, electrical component sizing and application, and ensuring Code Compliance is maintained (including UL, ETL, and UL 508A standards).
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, power distribution, motors, contactors and protection.
• Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and agency standards (NEC, UL, CSA).
• Experience with root-cause analysis, design validation and change control.
• Proven ability to resolve complex technical problems with limited supervision.
• Experience with variable-frequency drives and high-voltage systems.
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
