About this role:

The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures purchased materials and components meet Carrier's quality requirements. This role qualifies suppliers, drives corrective actions and improves incoming quality through on-site development and structured problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Qualifies new suppliers and parts through APQP, PPAP and first-article inspection.
• Drives supplier corrective actions (SCAR/8D) and verifies effectiveness.
• Conducts supplier audits and on-site process assessments.
• Monitors and improves incoming quality performance (supplier PPM, defect trends).
• Manages non-conforming material disposition, containment and recovery plans.
• Partners with Sourcing and Engineering on supplier selection and development.
• Supports supplier readiness for new-product launches.
• Maintains supplier quality documentation, control plans and records.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of supplier quality or quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Ability and willingness to provide direct production support, including weekend shifts and/or 24/7 on-call coverage. 
• AIAG certification. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
• Six Sigma Green Belt and/or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
• Practical experience applying core automotive/quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) and control plans.
• Experience driving supplier corrective actions (SCAR/8D) to closure and verifying root-cause effectiveness.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and process assessments.
• Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and quality inspection standards.
• Supplier quality experience with sheet metal, castings, electronics, or electro-mechanical commodities.
