Registered Nurse - Part-Time

Casa Esperanza, Inc. is a bilingual/bicultural behavioral health treatment provider serving Boston and the Merrimack Valley. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to recover from addiction, trauma, mental illness, and other chronic medical conditions; overcome homelessness and discrimination; and achieve health and wellness through comprehensive, integrated care.

Latinas y Niños is a licensed, residential treatment program that offers integrated substance use and mental health treatment in a residential setting. Our program provides patients with treatment, support, and a recovery-oriented peer community to help patients find their own path to recovery. 

• →Complete Nursing Assessments, COWS, CIWA Assessments 

• →Complete medical clearance exam at time of intake when needed 

• →Complete Medication Pass and all required documentation 

• →Complete Medication Counts at start and finish of shift of all control and non-control substances 

• →Work closely with clinical team during MDT meetings to offer and provide client medical insight as part of case presentations. 

• →Consult with staff and attend case conferences, as needed  

• →Work collaboratively with Medical Director/Nurse Practitioner for medication reconciliation process.  

• →Work as part of an integrated care team model  

• →Directly work in collaboration with community providers for medication refills and reconciliation.  

• →Complete evaluations based on client request for medical attention, emergency and non-emergency triage and physical/mental health rounds for safety and condition monitoring 

• →Keep electronic health records up to date including progress notes and assessments of service.  

• →Educating clients on their current medical diagnosis, needs and medical histories; educating clients on medication information and usages 

• →Alerting Program Director when conditions worsen or if abnormalities arise. 

• →Work in collaboration with counselors/case managers/medicaction specialists to ensure proper medication management and medication planning 

• →Work directly with Program Director on any medication errors and medication monitoring procedure 

• →Work uniformly with Recovery Specialist on medication monitoring procedure 

• →Ensure responsibilities regarding Duty to Warn and Mandated Reporting are fulfilled 

Massachusetts Licensed Registered Nurse  

Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable due to population served 

 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:  

• Knowledge of EHR systems  

• Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations  

• Knowledge on best practices associated from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)  

• Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder 

• Knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment for substance use disorders 

• Knowledge of Mental Health Disorders 

• Tuesday and Wednesday; 7am - 3pm
