The SPEAK Center is seeking a full-time Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct and consultative speech-language services to students in a school-based setting.
The SLP will support students with speech, language, voice, and communication needs so they can access and benefit from their educational program. This role includes assessment, therapy, IEP development, collaboration with school teams, documentation, parent communication, and consultation with teachers and staff.
We are seeking a professional who is bilingual, ASHA-certified, organized, collaborative, and committed to supporting students, families, and school communities.
Responsibilities
~1 min readThe Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist may be responsible for:
- → Providing direct speech-language therapy services to students
- → Conducting screenings, evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses related to speech, voice, and language needs
- → Interpreting evaluation results for parents, teachers, and school teams
- → Writing evaluation reports, recommendations, and service documentation
- → Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs, or IEPs, for students eligible for speech-language services
- → Collaborating with classroom teachers, special education teams, and other school staff to support student communication needs
- → Providing consultative services and strategies for classroom carryover
- → Supporting appropriate referrals to outside agencies, providers, or specialists when needed
- → Providing information, support, and communication to parents and families, when appropriate
- → Serving as a consultant to teachers and school staff on speech-language services and student support strategies
- → Maintaining accurate and timely records for students receiving speech-language services
- → Completing required service logs, progress notes, reports, and compliance documentation
- → Participating in IEP meetings, team meetings, professional development, and school-based collaboration
- → Maintaining strong professional relationships with students, families, school staff, district staff, community members, and vendors
- → Maintaining confidentiality and a high level of ethical conduct
- → Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
~1 min readTo be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence, CCC-SLP
- Bilingual speech-language skills
- Current Arizona Speech-Language Pathologist certification through the Arizona Department of Education, or eligibility to obtain
- Current Arizona Department of Health Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility to obtain
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints Fingerprint Clearance Card, AZ IVP FPCC
- Ability to provide onsite school-based services full time
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, and compliance standards
- Previous school-based SLP experience
- Experience participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience completing bilingual speech-language evaluations
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Knowledge of Arizona school-based special education procedures and compliance requirements
This is a full-time, school-based position. Candidates must be available to work onsite according to the assigned school schedule.
This is an onsite school-based position. Remote or teletherapy services are not currently being considered for this opening unless otherwise approved by the district or placement team.
