As a Private Brands Product Developer, you'll play a critical role in bringing new products from concept to shelf while continuously improving our existing portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a food innovation professional who thrives at the intersection of product development, science, quality, and commercialization. In this role, you'll partner with suppliers, manufacturers, and cross-functional teams to develop high-quality center store private branded products that deliver exceptional guest experiences while supporting Casey's growth and innovation strategy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end development and commercialization of private brand packaged products from concept through launch.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain product formulations, specifications, and technical documentation to achieve quality, cost, and performance goals.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal partners to accelerate product innovation, prototyping, commercialization, and ongoing improvements.
  • Build technical expertise in ingredients, formulation, processing methods, manufacturing capabilities, and category-specific knowledge.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, consistency, manufacturing efficiencies, and cost optimization.
  • Support manufacturing trials, sensory evaluations, packaging assessments, shelf-life studies, and validation activities to ensure successful market execution.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and portfolio growth while maintaining a strong focus on quality and guest satisfaction.

Compensation: Starting pay range:‏‏‎ $64,500‏‏‎ - $84,600.‏‏‎ Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Food Science, Culinary Arts or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in food and beverage product development, commercialization, quality assurance or related field.
  • Experience supporting product development, and commercialization within a food manufacturing or high-volume production environment.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, quality systems, regulatory requirements and industry trends relevant to food and beverage products.
  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
  • Travel required approximately 30% of the time. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the physical ability to drive a vehicle for job related travel.
