Field Service Technician

• Position Title: Field Service Technician (Mechanic)
• Position Type: Direct Placement (0% Remote / Onsite)
• Location: Davidson, NC / Eagleville, TN
• Compensation: $30.32 – $37.90 / hour
• Schedule: 40–50 hours per week (Must be available for emergency calls outside normal business hours)

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Field Service Technician (Mechanic) to join our Asset Group. The primary role involves performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for on-road vehicles, electric and gas small tools, and light-to-heavy equipment ranging from portable generators to 40,000-pound track excavators.

• Safety & Compliance: Work in a safe manner, recognize and correct hazards in the Service Center, and comply with all safety requirements to maintain an accident/incident-free work environment.
• Equipment Inspection & Diagnosis: Confer with the Service Center Supervisor, review work orders, inspect equipment, and utilize analyzers, gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices to determine service/repair needs.
• Maintenance & Repair:
  • Perform routine maintenance services and repairs on vehicles, small tools, and heavy machinery.
  • Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear and repair needs.
  • Follow manufacturer documentation and standardized checklists to ensure thorough maintenance.
  • Test-drive equipment post-repair to verify proper function and prevent repeat issues.
  • Perform welding, washing, and cleaning of equipment as necessary.
• Documentation & Tracking:
  • Complete equipment/tool tags and place maintenance/safety inspection checklists in equipment cabs/tubes upon work completion.
  • Accurately log and document all service records.

• High School Diploma / GED: Required.
• Automotive Maintenance: Required experience/training.
• Small Tools (Electric & Gas): Required experience/training.
• Light / Heavy Equipment: Required experience/training.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy (email, web browsing, data entry) required.

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and mechanical reasoning skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret equipment service manuals and schematics.
• High focus, concentration, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.
• Logical and critical thinking with sound decision-making capabilities at task/process levels.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Valid Driver’s License: Required.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification: Required (training provided if needed).
• Equipment Certifications: All-terrain material handler and aerial lift certifications required when offered.
• Preferred Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, and ASE Certifications are desirable.

• Work Environment: Frequently indoors; periodically outdoors subject to seasonal temperatures and loud noise.
• Physical Capabilities: Lifting, carrying, or moving up to 50 lbs; standing for extended periods; frequent climbing and leaning; strong manual dexterity.
