Summary
We are seeking a Lead Developer to launch and run a software team at our brand-new site in Chennai, India. You will manage and guide a team of up to 5 developers, play a key role in hiring, and shape the team’s growth. The role is split 50/50 between hands-on development and technical leadership / management. You will act as a key liaison between the UK and the local engineering teams, so strong communication skills in both technical and non-technical subjects are a must.

Role
As a Lead Developer, you will report to the Head of Technology (based in London).
Core Responsibilities:
- Leading the development of new features and platform improvements.
- Managing, mentoring and motivating team members.
- Liaising with UK based stakeholders and ensuring team alignment with business and technical objectives.
- Planning, coordinating and delivering technical projects to the agreed schedule.
- Championing and enforcing technical standards.
- Ensuring the SDLC is followed within the team.
- Assisting with hiring, onboarding, and developing the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in a STEM subject from a reputable institution
- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- 2+ years in a lead / management role
- Proven experience liaising with remote stakeholders
- Familiarity with our tech stack or equivalent technologies
- A basic understanding of financial markets and derivative products
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Professional fluency in English (both written and spoken)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones.
- A strong understanding of distributed software systems
- An analytical and inquisitive mindset
